2022 Estate Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

This classic Australian blend has a long and illustrious history here at Huntington - we've had some trophy winners in our time. Cabernet provides structure, line and length while the Shiraz smoothes, softens and fills out the mid-palate, creating a wine of superb balance. We are very committed to this blend and will be regularly releasing. We can barely keep up with demand for these Estate range Cabernet / Shiraz blends.

2022 was very cold and very wet, following similar conditions in 2021. The vines were incredibly healthy and happy, with vigorous canopy growth and good yields of exceptional quality fruit. The primary task in the vineyard was preventing disease given the wet and the volume of leaf - a task ably handled by the vineyard team of Paul & Paul.

18/03/2022 - 11.8 tonnes of shiraz were received from Block 10 at 13.4Bé. 7 days on skins. 15 months in a blend of seasoned and new American oak. 24/03/2022 – 10.3 tonnes of cabernet sauvignon received from Blocks 3 and 9 at 12.8Bé. 8 days on skins. 15 months in a blend of seasoned and new French oak. The Shiraz batch was blended with a portion of the Reserve Grade Cabernet in late October 2023. Bottled 23/11/2023 at 14.09% alc/vol.
