2022 Estate Shiraz

While Huntington Cabernet leads the way in the Trophy and Medal tally, it is Huntington Shiraz that often wins the hearts of our customers. As smooth and as fruity as you’d expect from the variety; the fine tannins are well managed to provide structure and length as well as the ability to age. Mudgee produces outstanding Shiraz in both the warm and cool years.

Fruit was harvested from Blocks 10, 18 and 19 on 16/03/22. We harvested 12.3 tonnes of fruit at 12.7 Baumé. The fruit was crushed to F3 and spent 7 days on skins for optimal colour and tannin extraction before being gently pressed off at 1.5 Baumé. The wine was then racked to seasoned American oak for 19 months to mature. Bottled 14/11/23, at 14.16% alc/vol.
