2019 Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The last of the recent drought years, 2019 was hot and dry and the vines were tired. We deployed irrigation and organic fertilisers to mitigate stress. Canopy was modest but adequate to provide fuel for ripening and shield the grapes from the sun. Yields were lower than average.

6.859 tonne of fruit received from Block 9b on 05/03/2019. Crushed to Fermenter 1 at 13.8Bé. Nine days on skins and then racked to 35% new French oak. Eighteen months in oak, bottled 19/10/2020 at 13.5% alc/vol.
