VINEYARD REPORT

Weekly rain events continued through winter and into early spring, resulting in a full moisture profile and a carpet of lush green throughout the vineyard and headlands. Ideal winter conditions. The cover-crop of clover is exuberant, fixing nitrogen to improve the soils, sucking up excess moisture so we don’t get bogged, and very successfully preventing any weeds from taking hold.

Pruning is complete, and woolly buds are starting to develop. Vintage 2025 has just begun!

We’ve had a winter that broke records for high and low temperatures - who knows what’s ahead for the growing season. But with healthy vines and soils, an amazing team and 20 years of experience, we’re more than ready for whatever Mother Nature sends our way!

WINERY REPORT

Tasting and blending the 2023 reds this week prior to the Spring bottling has been an absolute pleasure, and my belief that it is the best vintage we’ve seen is confirmed. Flavours and structures are impeccable, and the wines just need the lightest of winemaking touches.

I’ll admit it’s a little nerve-wracking (even after all these years) to have such potential for greatness sitting in barrel. I can’t wait to get them safely into bottle, and then see these wines in the coming years.
